Atlanta murder suspect denied resources after years his years in jail.

Marquez Wilson appeared in front of the Fulton County Superior Court judge last February. He stood next to the sixth court-appointed attorney in four years since he was charged with murder. Wilson maintained his innocence. His new attorney – Emily Gilbert, needed to properly review the case before proceeding to the trial or giving Wilson any advice. Gilbert pleaded that the judge forced Georgia Public Defender Council (GPDC) to provide her an investigator stating that the state agency is responsible for representing people who were accused of crimes who cannot afford an attorney, and this includes Wilson, a 32-year-old who faces life in prison without parole. Read more.
